AM3D introduces world-class 3D audio for Android
AM3D is the industry's first in launching an intelligent and
complete plug-in solution with dynamic 3D Audio and Audio
Android is the most popular operating system for smartphones and
it is becoming more and more advanced. Amazing functionality and
applications can be created. This fact combined with the rapid
increase of CPU power makes new opportunities for improving
end-user experience a reality.
Imagine playing a game on your smartphone with astonishingly
lifelike 3D audio effects. This is possible with AM3D's dynamic 3D
Audio created via the OpenSL ES API. Audio Enhancement and
also 3D Audio can be provided as audio effect plug-ins. The 3D
Audio and Audio Enhancement solutions can coexist, thus bringing
audio enhancement to the 3D output as well as the media player
output. When using an Android device with AM3D audio solutions,
gaming and UI experiences are significantly enriched. AM3D's
solution is fully customizable and cost-reducing. Integration can
be completed in less than 10 minutes.
-The implementation is based on the AM3D 3D Audio engine, which
is wrapped using an abstraction layer and then integrated into
Android 4.0 or Ice Cream Sandwich, says AM3D's Chief Technology
Officer, Clemen Boje Larsen.
Once implemented, the end-user can tune individual settings
using a flexible Audio Control Panel. Pre-defined settings can be
created for external devices - providing e.g. surround sound and 3D
audio to your TV.
AM3D's technology improves the audio performance with solutions
that are purely software-based and very easily integrated in to
Android. All features have very low memory footprint and
requires extremely low computation power.
